| Amai's perfect cupcake lives on in her childhood memory of a bagel shop in Columbia, Maryland- moist yellow cake with perfect sugar frosting piled 2 inches high in the form of sesame street characters. She scores high for presentation- including toppings, garnishes, and names. A creature of habit who revels in favorite flavors, she has been known to appreciate the occasional new and unusual. |

| To me happiness exists when I can help old people, play with dogs, and eat cupcakes (especially ones with tons of frosting). For my 27th birthday I was surprised with a giant cake comprised of 33 cupcakes and covered with delectable purple and pink buttercream frosting. If I ever had a complaint about cupcakes, it would be that I can't eat them everyday. Curse moderation! Bring on the sugar! |

Likes: I'll take an interest in almost any genre of cupcake, but my standards are high. I'm looking for bakeries that can perfect the classics and also bakeries that have some unorthodox cupcake visions to share with the world. In my opinion, the easiest way for a cupcake to go horribly wrong is in the frosting, particularly when it ends up too sugary or too thick and fatty. |

Likes: I like fruity flavors the best. I love love love - and squeal with delight over - good lemon cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes the most. I've recently learned to appreciate red-velvet and am becoming quite fond of it actually. A well done buttercream icing is my hands-down favorite! I like a good cream cheese icing too - but leave any of that whipped cream stuff for someone else, thanks ;-) |
| Dislikes: I absolutely abhor anything remotely resembling coffee flavor (so no mocha or tiramisu or espresso stuff for me) and while I'm not a big fan of chocolate in general, if no other flavor is available, well, I certainly won't turn down a chocolate cupcake that's offered to me :) |
| By day...I'm a Software Engineering Development Project Manager. But deep down inside I'm a repressed pastry chef thoroughly content to spend time in my kitchen whipping up something delicious **and beautiful**. I believe that aesthetics are at least 50% of what makes good food "good". I have a deep and abiding love for anything from the sugar food group with cupcakes being my favorite - especially the mini ones (all the taste without blowin a whole day's worth of calories...that's what I say!!!). I love everything about food but I can't decide what I like more...making it...eating it...or photographing it. And nothing gets me all drooly like some good cupcake pics!!!
