Some of our more diligent readers may have noticed that my cupcake
consumption over the past several weeks has dropped
significantly. I've intentionally been restraining myself in
preparation for:
The 1st
(Annual?) CupcakeFetish Cross Country Cupcake
Crawl!
The fun started this
morning when I flew out to LA to meet Baron. Over the next eight days
we will be driving from Los Angeles back to Pittsburgh stopping at
approximately thirty cupcakeries along the way. Based on our
experience doing a
cupcake crawl of London, we have enacted
the following three rules:
- We may only purchase two
cupcakes from each shop
- We may only eat a maximum
of one cupcake every two hours
- Whenever possible we
will purchase one vanilla/chocolate cupcake to serve as a
baseline
Our busiest day will be Friday when we
visit nine cupcakeries, and our slowest day will be Wednesday when we
only visit one. Because we can only eat one cupcake every two
hours, there will be times where we'll have a fairly long "cupcake
queue." Thanks to some super helpful advice from Melisser I
purchased a
Wilton 3-IN-1 Cake Caddy to hold all of
the cupcakes that are waiting to be eaten.
Stay
tuned to read about our cross-country cupcake adventures!
Baron and I will try to blog from the road as much as
possible. Keep your fingers crossed that we won't hit any
traffic or closed roads -- some of our windows of opportunity are
really tight!
