I should preface this review by mentioning that I'm not the world's biggest fan of creamsicles, but I went to Sweet Mandy B's with Cherry Tops and her fiance, and they were both dying to try a "bite" of this cupcake. According to the sign on the counter, this creamsicle cupcake is topped with vanilla buttercream, which leads me to believe that the peachy colored cake must bear the brunt of the orange flavor. The entire cupcake smells like A&W's orange cream soda. The cake is soft and fluffy with a salty creamy orange flavor. I'm not sure what's up with the saltiness, but the cake definitely tastes like a salty creamsicle.
The sugary frosting is salty and buttery with the same orange cream flavor as the cake. I guess it's not strictly vanilla buttercream. The frosting adds some moisture to the cake, while the white nonpareils add a nice crunch to the overall texture of the cupcake. I'm not sure if it's the frosting, or the cake, or both, but something is giving the cupcake a greasy taste and texture. The combination of the greasy saltiness and me not being a creamsicle fan makes it hard for me to enjoy this cupcake. However, Cherry Tops and her fiance both liked this cupcake and found its flavor very "authentic."

This cute little pumpkin cupcake consists of pumpkin cake topped with cream cheese frosting decorated with white nonpareils and little orange pumpkin sprinkles. So cute! The cupcake gives off an aroma of pumpkin and cream cheese.
The cake is dense and a bit dry with a rich pumpkin flavor. Unlike most vegetable breads (zucchini, pumpkin, carrot, etc), the texture of the cake is very smooth. There's no shredded pumpkin or nuts interspersed throughout the cake, which leads me to believe they must have used blended pumpkin or pumpkin pie filling in the batter. I really like the flavor of the cake, but I'm not a fan of the dryness or the rough texture of the cake granules.
The cream cheese frosting is super smooth with a sweet, cool, and refreshing cream cheese flavor. It's one of the sweeter cream cheese frostings I've ever had, and I really like it. The frosting adds some moisture and sweetness to the cake, masking the rough, dry texture. The sweetness of the frosting compliments the spiciness of the cake very well, neither overpowering the other. The nonpareils and pumpkin sprinkles add a nice crunch to the overall texture of the cupcake. The real treat here is the smooth, sweet cream cheese frosting -- the cake is simply mediocre.
